How To Install The MIK Editor
If you have been provided with a CDROM by your Kiosk Manager you should insert this into your PC and follow the instructions displayed.
If you have not got a CDROM you can download the installation files.
Click here to download the file MIK_Editor.zip now!
Create a temporary folder and save the file MIK_Editor.zip in it.
Use your favourite zip utility to extract all the files in the zip file to the same directory.
Your temporary directory should now contain the file you downloaded - MIK_Editor.zip - and the following three files
MIK_Editor.CAB setup.exe SETUP.LST
In Windows Explorer, double-click on the file setup.exe. The install script should run.
You will probably get some messages saying that you are trying to install a file that is older than the one currently installed on your PC. In all cases you should keep the one that is already installed. Do not replace any of the files already installed on your PC.
Once the Editor is installed you can delete the temporary folder and all its contents.
The MIK Editor looks to see if a program called IrfanView is installed on the system. If it is it will use it to create a resized image to display in the kiosk page. If it can't find IrfanView the MIK Editor will just use the original image and rely on the web browser component to resize the image.
If you want to install IrfanView, which is a useful, free program for processing images, you should visit their website.
