Marriage Licence of John Ashley and Sarah Wilson
19 September 1863


The Nineteenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty three

ON which Day appeared personally John Ashley of Willimoor Locks in the Parish of Malpas Agent

and being sworn on the HOLY EVENGELISTS alleged and made Oath as follows:- That he is of the Age of twenty one Years and upwards and a Bachelor and intends to marry

Sarah Wilson of Cholmondeley Castle in the said Parish of Malpas aged twenty one Years and upwards, and a Spinster

and he prayed a Licence to solemnise the said Marriage in the Parish Church of Malpas aforesaid. In which said parish the said John Ashley further made Oath. That the said Sarah Wilson hath had her usual Abode for the Space of Fifteen Days now immediately preceding. And he further made Oath, That he believeth that there is no impediment of Kindred or Alliance, or of any other lawful Cause, nor any Suit commenced in any Ecclesiastical Court to bar or hinder the preceeding the said Matrimony, according to the Terms of the said Licence.
