Entry from Alma Alice Mayersbeth's Address Books

Mrs Harrington
Horsley Green National Camp
Nr High Wycombe
Bucks

The National Camps Corporation appears to have been set up under the National Camps Act 1939. The National Archives contains about 20 documents concerning the organisation - see their catalogue for "national camp".

It is not clear why Elizabeth was there. She would have been in her late 50's during the Second World War. Maybe she was a member of staff, although there are suggestions that the camp was used for TB patients. It is unlikely her address would be in Alma's address book if she was there just for a short time.
