The will of Mr. John Bastard, formerly post master at Port Adelaide, was before the Civil Court for the third time yesterday. Mr. Justice Richards was on the Bench. Mr. Bastard died in June, 1908, having executed a will in February, 1904. The estate is valued at about £5,000. When the matter was last before the court. His Honor made certain directions to the trustees. It was explained yesterday that in view of the interpretation and directions previously given, the question had arisen whether or not there was an intestacy in regard to certain portions of the income.
Mr. H. B. Piper appeared for the trustee (the Executor Trustee and Agency Co.),
Mr. G. C. Ligertwood. K.C., with Mr. K. C. Duffield for Mrs. Beatrice May Guenther (a daughter of the testator),
and Mr. K. L. Ward for F. J. Baxter (a beneficiary).
The hearing was adjourned until this morning.
