There seems to be no suitable marriage of a John and Sarah before 1809, apart from this one, which is not all that suitable as Astbury is c.11 miles from where Martha was born a year later, and they married by licence which is a bit ambitious for a Labourer. The docs claim he is a Farmer of Astbury, aged 21 years, which would be a few years too old for the Johns born 1791 and 1792, and really upping his importance in the agricultural trades:
