Lion Bebbington - this is evidently a woman, possibly married to someone named Evans "her oldies Sun Thomas Evenes". Possibly could even be known daughter Eliza who married Edward Evans.

This was very obviously a self-made Will!


David Hughes swore at Liverpool re the Will, on 24th May 1866.

The Testator John Bebbington, late of Weston Point Cheshire, died on the 21st September 1854 at Liverpool.

The Will was proved at Chester on 2nd July 1866 by the oath of Faithfull Thomas Bebbington "the Son one of the surviving Executors". Power was reserved to make the like Grant to "John Bebbington the son the other surviving Executor".

Letter of Administration had been granted in November 1854 "to Mary Bebbington Widow" . . . . . "on the suggestion that he had died intestate" - since revoked by order of the Registrar of the Court of Probate on 9th June 1866.

Value: Under 450 pounds. Including Leaseholds

Further info from Will:
John Bebbington the testator married Mary Thomas on 1st September 1816 at "Burrow Curch[sic]". Should be Barrow Church.
