The cases before the Resident Magistrate's Court today were Bolton v. Moore, and Bischoff v. Moore. The former was a case of assault; defendant fined £1 and costs. In the latter case defendant being charged with cutting open a trunk with intent to steal, was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment in Auckland gaol with hard labour for one month.
