Obituary 1993


Surrounded by loving family members who were ably supported by some very special clergy, friends & hospital staff, Ardis died peacefully on the evening of Feb 8, 1993 at the age of 44 years, after a 6 year struggle with multiple sclerosis.

Ardis's steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, her courage, determination, humour, patience & love were an inspiration & blessing to her family and friends.

Ardis is survived by her loving husband, the Ven. John L. Moore & their 4 children, Bonnie, Sharon, Bill & Tom, as well as 2 grandchildren, Conner & Cyle.

Also surviving Ardis is her devoted mother Mrs. Dora Bye; her brothers, Bob, George, Leonard & sister Karen; several nephews, nieces, great nephews & great nieces & her foster brothers & sisters, some of whom are Harry, Ed, Danny, Cindy, Dolly, Dwight Joe & Joel. She was predeceased by her father Robert & sister Betty.

Ardis was born in Winnipeg, attending Luxton School, St.Benedict's Girls Academy at Middlechurch & the University of Winnipeg. In her youth Ardis excelled in piano & track. She developed into a highly competent pianist, organist & piano teacher & brought the joy of music to many. As a piano teacher Ardis enjoyed shaping the talents of many children, youth & adults. Ardis enjoyed volunteer work in all the communities where she lived & for several years volunteered at Isaac Brock School. She was vibrant & appreciated the energy of children & youth. She was active within the Anglican Church in many different capacities. She was known for her baking & hospitality. Her husband & children were always a priority in her life & Ardis continually displayed support, interest & devotion to them.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Thurs, Feb 11 at St. John's Anglican Cathedral, 135 Anderson Ave. with Mrs. Elsie Douglas expressing a few well chosen words regarding Ardis; the Rev. Donna Mahussier, the Rev. Barbara Barnett, the Ven. Patrick Lee & the Most Rev. Walter Jones officiating. A reception will follow immediately in the John West Hall. A private family interment of ashes will take place in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ardis' nephews & nieces, Rob Bye, Dean Bye, Darren Bye, Corinne Norris, Karen Barbour, Gina Bye, Mitch Bye & Mo Bye & special family friend Gregg Herner.

Very special thanks to the Most Rev. Walter Jones, the Ven. Patrick Lee, the Rev. Barbara Barnett & the Rev. Donna Mahussier for their exemplary pastoral care; to the staff of King George Hospital 4A for their compassionate & loving care of Ardis these past 4 years & to all who have offered love, support & prayers for Ardis & her family. Your concern has been so very much appreciated by us all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parish of St. Patrick & St. Jude, the Diocese of Rupert's Land, or a charity of your own choice.
