Robert Alfred Barnet Bye

Peacefully on Monday, November 28, 1988 at the Deer Lodge Centre, Robert Alfred Barnet Bye, beloved husband of Dora.

Bob was born in Willesdon [sic] Green, London, England on January 17, 1908, coming to Canada at an early age. He served his country spending six years with the R.C.C.S., serving five years overseas. He lived a good life enjoying 49 and one half years with the C.P.R. Bob was a member of Lodge No. 49 General Sir Sam Steele and West Kildonan Legions. He enjoyed bicycling with his good friend Mel Arklie with the Seven Oaks Bicycle Club. After retiring Bob remained active selling lottery tickets, driving a cab and serving as a commissionaire at No. 2 Legion. He will be missed at the Salisbury House on Matheson and Main.

Besides his wife of 59 years, Bob is survived by three sons, Robert and wife Sue, George and wife Angie, Leonard and wife Pasy; two daughters, Ardis and husband John and Karen; many foster sons and daughters, Dwight and wife Lilian, Harry, Danny, Joe, Little Joe, Dolly, Cindy to mention a few; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, mother, father and sister.

Friends may call for viewing on Tuesday between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey St.) Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30 at the Parish of St. Patrick and St. Jude, 612 Valour Rd., with his son-in-law Rev. John Moore officiating. Cremation to follow.
