The Wreck Of The Rheubina.

Further Particulars.

In connection with the loss of tbe Rheubina, Messrs Goldberg and Co., the Swansea agents of Messrs Cory and Sons, Cardiff, the owners, state that the chief officers of the Rheubina and some of the members of the crew served under a running agreement, which was renewed half-yearly. Consequently their names do not appear among those "signed on" on the 22nd August last, when the Rheubina paid the last of her regular visits to the port of Swansea. On that occasion she shipped besides the following men, a list which, it will be observed, differs materially from that given above:-

George Simpson, lodging at Tiger Inn, Strand, Swansea, A.B.
W. Crase, Newcastle, A.B.
E. Williams, 19, Vincent-street. Swansea, A.B.
F. Carruthers, 48, Aberdyberthi-street, Swansea, A.B.
Calvert Jones. 21, Clayton Hill, Swansea. O.S.
C. A. Nelson, Sailors' Home. Swansea, A.B. and lamps.
E. Olsson, 3, Squire's-place, Swansea, A.B.
Richard Dennis, Bideford, steward.
C. Williams. 22, Sloane-road, Briton Ferry, O.S.
William Jenkins, Hooper's-row, Landore, Swansea, fireman.
William McGrath, 3, Strand, Swansea.

Only the above-named men were shipped at Swansea. The steamer arrived there on Sunday, August 21st, to discharge a cargo of copper ore in the Prince of Wales Dock for the Rio Tinto Company, Limited, Cwmavon Works, and after discharging sailed on Wednesday, August 24th, for Cardiff, she loaded a cargo outwards for Lisbon, afterwards proceeding to Huelva, where she took in a cargo of copper ore for the Rio Tinto Company, Briton Ferry. She left Huelva on the 19th inst., and was due at Swansea on Sunday.
