A BRUTE. - MRS. CORVER, the wife of a city clerk, summoned her husband to the Hammersmith Police-court a few days ago to answer a charge of cruelty towards her. In the course of cross-examination it was elicited that the defendant had taken to his house women of doubtful character; and he admitted having seized his wife by the shoulders and shaken her. The magistrates ordered him to find a surety in £20 to keep the peace for six months.
