F/Off. E H Cross RAFVR (Service No. 79088) Edgar Hillman Cross was born in October 1897. Edgar Hillman Cross was the son of Henry John and Rosaline Cross and the husband of Anne Gwendoline Cross, of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Cross had served in the Royal Flying Corps during the 1914-18 World War. He was a trained Chartered Accountant. Flying Officer Edgar H Cross was a member of No. 3 Military and Air Mission. Edgar Cross drowned aged 43 when the SS Aboukir was sunk on 28 May 1940. Edgar Hillman Cross was entitled to the '1939-45' Star and the '1939-45' War Medal.
