Marriage Licence 29 July 1789


The twenty Ninth Day of July in the Year of our LORD One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine.

ON which Day appeared personally Joseph Dutton of Marchemly within the parish of Hodnett in the County of Salop farmer and being Sworn on the Holy EVANGELISTS, alledged and made Oath as follows. That he is of the Age of twenty four Years, and upwards and a Bachelor and intends to marry Ann Bebington within the parish of Malpas in the County and Diocese of Chester aged twenty two Years and upwards, and a Spinster not knowing or believing any lawful Let, or Impediment, by reason of any Præcontract, entered into before the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thusand Seven Hundred and Fifty Four, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other lawful Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage: And he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the parish Church of Malpas aforesaid. In which said parish of Malpas the said Joseph Dutton further made Oath, That the said Ann Bebington hath had her usual Abode for the space of Four Weeks last past.
