Viola (Vi) was born in Ontario in 1928 April 14, growing up on farms and later working in Exeter where she met Allan Holts who was in the air force, stationed at the airport near by, where there were dances held every Saturday evening. They were married on April 14, 1949. Being in the service they did a lot of moving around until Al retired from service in 1970 with 3 children. She is now a grand- mother of five granddaughters and two great grandsons which keeps her busy. In the fall of 1980 they were introduced to square dancing by Dick Nicol's sister Kay who was dancing with the Whirlaways. Dick was calling for Sherbrooke as well so they decided to join both clubs to get in extra learning. They decided to just belong to Sherbrooke. They soon became the treasurers in 1983 holding that for three years before becoming Vice Pres. Then President for a couple of years then back to treasurer again. Then came 7 years as treasurer for EDSDA. In 1994 they were Vice Chair people of the convention held in Spruce Grove. Then came a line of Vice Pres., President and Treasurer jobs with the Sherbrooke until the club folded. In 2001 they were a part of a team of Goodwill Ambassadors of the convention in Leduc. In April of 1997 they received the Alberta Rose Award pin. Beside Square dancding they are involved in delivering Meals on Wheels as well as doing Church work. They now are members of the West Edmonton Promenaders.
