The Sudden Death at Idle Railway Station

Today, an inquest was held at the Oddfellows' Hall Inn, Idle, relative to the death of Sarah Tidswell (wife of John Tidswell, dentist, 119 Lumb Lane, Manningham) who died on Monday afternoon at the railway station, Idle. It was stated in evidence that on Monday the deceased, who was 48 years of age, left home in company with her husband, for the purpose of going to Idle by the 12.27p.m. train from Bradford. They had to hurry on the way, and when they got to the station the deceased seemed to be very much exhausted. She, however, got into the train, but gradually became worse, and in getting out of the train at Idle she died while on the platform. It appeared that she had for several years past been suffering from heart disease and bronchitus, and had been attended by Dr. Bell. A verdict of “Death from natural causes” was returned.
