On this twenty first day of January in the year one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, GEORGE HENRY FOSTER, of The Peoples Palace, Sydney, in the State of New South Wales, being duly sworn maketh oath and saith as follows:-

  1. I am the abovenamed Respondent.
  2. I am informed and verily believe the same to be true that the Decree Nisi for dissolution of marriage was pronounced on the 19th December 1913, and a copy of the same served on the Crown Solicitor on the 22nd August 1914.
  3. On the 31st of July 1914 I paid to Mr J. C. J. Ryan, the Solicitor for the Petitioner, the sum of Eight Pounds eight shillings in settlement of his costs.
  4. I am desirous of having the Decree Nisi made absolute.
  5. I am informed and verily believe the same to be true that no steps have been taken by the abovenamed Petitioner to have the Decree Nisi made absolute.

The "People's Palace" appears to have been a hotel to provide affordable accommodation for working class people.
