MR. and MRS. JOHN P. HODNETT, Tinniswood Street, St. John's, and the three younger members of the family are deep in throes of packing for an expedition into the far north. Mr. Hodnett, instructor in diesel power and mechanics at Sisler High School, has been appointed to take charge of the school at Frobisher Bay. He expects to put the emphasis on electrical and mechanical work to suit the needs of the Eskimo children who will make up the greater part of the school enrolment. A few white children will be among the pupils and there will be basic training in school subjects. The family, Mary Ann, 15, Edward, 12, and John, 6, are looking forward to the two-year sojourn as a great adventure. Mrs Hodnett has few housekeeping worries. She knows there will be an electric stove and a fully furnished house for her family so that clothing, bedding, utensils and dishes are all she must provide. The outdoor clothing will be bought in Montreal, their point of departure north. The Hodnetts will leave Winnipeg June 30 for the east. They will leave at the family home a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ewbank and a working son George.
