Advice has been received by Mr. G. G Hull, of Otaua, Waiuku, that his son Trooper John Kingston Hull, has been awarded the Military Medal. Trooper Hull left with the eighth reinforcements and is serving in Palestine. Prior to his enlistment he was engaged in farming with his father. He was born in Otaua and educated at the Otaua school, and afterwards at the Pukekohe High School.
