Departed this world November 12, 2003 to voyage with his childhood hero, Captain Cook, and pitch with the New York Yankees.
Born September 28, 1911 in Birmingham, England, to John M Joseph and Eleanor L Joseph, serving as a merchant marine in England during World War II, spending 50 years with the sheet metal workers union local 312.
Al, as most commonly known by friends and family, was the best figure of a man, always standing up for the lesser man, taking care of his family and never altering his beliefs. He brought great strength and stability to all of us. He believed there was no mountain too high to climb if you had faith in yourself and if along the way you faltered, his belief in you would get you there. Adventurous in life parasailing at the age of 87 and deep sea fishing at age 90.
Survived by Joyce M Joseph, Judie Joseph, April J Joseph, and Christian Alvin Joseph. Also survived by John Joseph, Patricia Beale, Mary Lambert, Ron Joseph, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. In lieu of funeral services, a celebration of Alvin's life took place Saturday November 15, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at 3725 S. 1100 E. SLC, UT 84106.
