In the Matter of the Application for Letters of Administration of the Goods, Chattels and Credit which were of JENNIE PARENTI, also known as JENNIE PARENTY, Deceased.

To the Surrogate's Court of the County of Queens:

THE PETITION OF DOMENICK PARENTY repectfully shows the court the following facts:

That your Petitioner resides at 189 Jamaica Avenue, Long Island City, in the Borough of Queens, County of Queens and State of New York.

That your Petitioner is the husband of said JENNIE PARENTI, also known as JENNIE PARENTY, deceased

That said deceased died at Sloan's Hospital, New York City, Borough of Queens on or about the 23rd day of June 1923, and was at, or immediately previous to, the time of her death a resident of Long Island City in the County of Queens State of New York; and was a citizen of the United States.

That the decedent at the time of her death was possessed and the owner of a certain personal property within, or which has come within, the County of Queens State of New York.

That the value of all the personal property, wheresoever situated, of which the said deceased died possessed, amounts to less than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars. $1203.82

That the decedent, at the time of her death, was seized of real estate within the County of Queens State of New York the value of which is about One Thousand ($1,000) Dollars.

That your Petitioner has made diligent search and inquiry for a will of said deceased, and has not found any, or obtained any information that she left any; and, therefore, alleges, upon information and belief that said deceased died without leaving any Last Will and Testament.

That the names of the husband and next of kin, of the decedent, adopted child or children, as far as they are known to your Petitioner or can be ascertained by him, with due diligence, are as follows:

That all of the children of said deceased to wit: Jeanette Parenty, Almerico Parenty, Peter Parenty, Thomas Parenty, and Louis Parenty are infants, Jeanette Parenty and Almerico Parenty being infants over fourteen years of age and Peter Parenty, Thomas Parenty and Louis Parenty being infants under fourteen years of age.

That all of said persons are of full age and sound mind except as stated.

That there are no other persons than those mentioned interested in this application:

That your Petitioner is of the age of twenty-one years and upwards and suffers no disability making him incompetent to receive Letters of Administration:

That no previous application has been made in this or any other Surrogate's Court in the State of New York for the probate of a will of the said deceased, or the granting of Letters of Administration on her estate.

Therefore you Petitioner prays for a decree of the Surrogate's Court of the County of Queens, granting him Letters of Administration of the goods, chattels and credits which were of said deceased to him or such other person or persons, having a prior right, as may be entitled thereto, and that all persons having a right prior or equal to that of your Petitioner to such Letters of Administration, and who have not renounced, may be cite to show cause why such a decree should not be made.

SURROGATE'S COURT. QUEENS COUNTY

In the Matter of the Appraisal of the Estate of JENNIE PARENTY, deceased, under the Acts in Relation to Taxable Transfers of Property.

TO THE SURROGATE'S COURT OF THE COUNTY OF QUEENS;

The petition of Domenick Parenty repectfully shows:

FIRST:- That your Petitioner duly appointed administrator of the goods, chattels and credits of the above named deceased, on August 31st, 1923. that said Jennie Parenty died intestate a resident of Long Island City Queens County, New York on June 22nd, 1923.

SECOND:- That the only personal estate of which said decedent died seized consisted of a joint bank account with the Long Island City Savings Banks #106911, appearing in the name of "Domenick Parenty and Jennie Parenty, to be drawn by either or the survivor" and with interest to the date of decedent's death amounted to the sum of Six Hudnred ($600.) Dollars and thirty-seven cents ($.37).

THIRD:- That the only real estate owned by said decedent was that in which she had any interest was as tenant by the entirety under and by virtue of a deed date May 31st, 1917 made by Sabato Miranda and wife to Domenick Parenty and Jennie Parenty, his wife, and which deed was duly recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of Queens on June 1st, 1917 in Liber 2132 page 141 of conveyances. Said premises are described as follows:

ALL that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situated in the First Ward, Borough and County of Queens, City and State of New York, shown as lot number 278 on a certain map entitled, "Partition Map Number 2, of part of the Estate of Samuel Stevens, deceased, situated in the Village of Astoria, Queens County, L.I. surveyed and drawn by P. G. Van Alst, January 1870 and filed in Queens County Clerk's office August 6th, 1870 and more particularly described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point in the northerly side of Jamaica Avenue 80 feet wide, distant 125.10 feet westerly from the corner formed by the intersection of said side Avenue with the westerly side of Ely Avenue 60 feet wide; thence running northerly at right angles to Jamaica Avenue 143.27 feet to the Alley; thence running westerly along the southerly side of the Alley 25.02 feet; thence running southerly at right angles to Jamaica Avenue and thence running easterly along said side of said Avenue 25.02 feet to the point or place of beginning.

Said premises are known as Lot 6, Block 551, Ward 1 on the Tax map for the Borough of Queens for the year 1923.

That at the time of the death of decedent there was a mortgage lien against said premises amounting to $2500. with interest at the rate of six percent since January 30th, 1923 amounting to the sum of $58.97.

FOURTH: That the said real estate left by the said decedent at the time of her death was worth according to the annexed appraisal of Henry C. Johnson, the sum of Eight thousand ($8,000.00) Dollars.

FIFTH: That at the time of decedent's death she had paid the sum of $170. on account of her subscription to ten shares six percent Cumulative Participating preferred Stock of the Consolidated Gas Company of New York at $50 per share. Her subscription not having been paid for in full no certificate of stock was ever issued to her and in the opinion of petitioner the equitable ownership of the deceased in and to said ten shares did not exceed the sum of $170.

SIXTH: that the debts of decedent's estate are as follows:

Thomas M. Quinn, undertaker, for funeral expenses, including plot at Calvery Cemetery, New York, $1464.00
Paid to doctors and charges at Sloans Hospital, New York City, 118.00
Paid for monument at Calvery Cemetery, 300.00
Administration expenses, including attorneys fees and disbursement upon obtaining appointment of administrator, conducting transfer tax proceedings and conducting accounting proceedings (estimated) 300.0
 $2182.00

SEVENTH:- that the only heirs at law and next of kin left by said decedent are as follows:
