July 4th 1869

Westwood dear sister i now take up my pen to rite a few lines to you hopeing to find you well as it leaves us at presant thank god for it

dear sister we have left Melbourne and com back to old tasmania i have been back a month henery has been over ten weeks he came over six weeks before me to get a place for bouth of us

dear sister the reason we left Melbourne is it did not agree with henery i am cooking for the men but the wages is very small all i am geting is four shillings a week but we must put up with it till we can better our selves

tell your husband we see his brother William severall times and he had tea with us the last time we see him he was quiet well and in a good place

Alma is quiet well and is growing a fine littel woman

Henery sends his kind love to you and to Robert

tell Robert he must rite to Henery and let hime know how the old spliters are geting on

walter Barnard is living about two mills from us

he is in the counsteabels again him and his wife and children are all well

the reason dear sister i did not rite before we were not settled in Melbourne

please rite to me as soone as you get this and let me know what you have got wether a son or a daughter and what its name is and wether you had a good time of it

send me wand? what news you have from home

Alma send kises to you and robert Charles Catchpole our Shipmate is liveing with us he send his kind love to you

he is married and has two children
