28 September 1913 - 12 August 1914 Bordon, Hampshire
12 August 1914 - 13 June 1919 BEF France - WW1

Went to France with the British Expeditionary Force on 13.8.1914.

Commemorated in the Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, France.

Named as MAYERSBETH on the 1914 Star Medal Roll, reference WO329/2447 sheet 154.

At some time transferred to the 10th Battalion. Probably because he had been ill or wounded at some time.
