12/11/1644. 19th September, 1929. Mrs. W. N. Anderson, Yarloop, Western Australia. Dear Madam, In a letter dated the 12th August I ventured to enquire if you would assist in completing the National Collection of War Records by presenting any letters you may have received from the late Joseph William Mayersbeth, or alternatively by making them available in order that copies may be made. You were also invited to mention the names (and addresses, if known) of others to whom your late husband may written. Each week private war records of this nature are being received by the War Memorial from relatives and friends of fallen soldiers. The record of the late Captain Mayersbeth suggests that his letters, etc. would be of special value and it is therefore earnestly hoped that you will reply favourably to the appeal. It will be appreciated if you will kindly favour me with a reply even if you are unable to agree to the request for records made by me on behalf of the Australian War Memorial. Yours faithfully, Director.
