On Friday at the Police Court, William Joseph Mayersbeth, a private in the 2nd Batt. Essex Regt., stationed at Longmoor, was charge with stealing a suit of clothes, a cap, and a silver watch and chain, value £4 12s., the property of Pte. Frank Charles Garner, of the same regiment, on May 22. Prisoner, when arrested as a deserter at Egham, Surrey, was wearing the goods. The Magistrates sentenced him to one month's imprisonment.
