Bicycles Without Lights.
Four young men pleaded guilty by
letter in the Cairns Summons Court
yesterday to charges that they rode
bicycles after dark without lights attached.
Arthur Daniels, of Martyn
street, was charged with having ridden
along Grafton-street after ll p.m., without
a light, and was fined 15/-, with
6/- costs of court. James Charles Penprase,
of Reservoir, was fined £1, with
6/- costs, for riding in Lake-street.
Bruce Coulson (19), of McLeod-street,
was also fined £1 for riding in Lake
street. Howard Leslie Mills (17), of
Digger-street, was fined 10/-, with 6/-
costs of court, for riding in Aplin
street without a light.
