COMPLIMENTARY DINNER AT SOUTHBRIDGE - A complimentary dinner was given to Mr Henry Paddy, who, has retired from business, and is about leaving the district, in Sutherland's Southbridge Hotel, on Thursday evening. A large number sat down to on excellently prepared table. Mr J. B. Campbell occupied the chair. The health of the guest was proposed by Mr J. J. Elwin, who, in feeling terms, referred to the kindness, and genial manner in which the guest had always treated, not only his friends, but every one with whom he was brought in contact. How successful he had been in his business, owing to his perseverance, ??t grity and honesty, and wished him and Mrs Paddy the otium cum dignitate which their years of labor well merited. The commercial interests were proposed by Mr Hanna, and responded to by Mr Thomas Wauchop and Mr L. V. Desborough. The agricultural interests were coupled with the name of Mr Houston. "The Press," "The Ladies," "The Legal Profession," and other toasts were properly received. Songs were sung by Messrs Campbell, Hanna, Smithson and others, and altogether a most sociable evening was spent. Mr Paddy leave Southbridge by the morning train.
