Services for Almerico Parente of Nevada City will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Saint Bede's Episcopal Church in Menlo Park. Burial will follow at Saint Bede's Cemetery, also in Menlo Park.
Mr. Parente was born on May 2, 1909, in New York, N.Y., to Dominic and Jenny (Lordi) Parenty.
He attended one year of high school in New York City.
He married Royda Boyd on July 21, 1934, in New York City.
He was a retired New York City motorcycle policeman and a semi-pro baseball pitcher.
He is survived by his son, Robert B. Parente of Los Angeles; daughter, Jean R. Moore of Nevada City; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Royda Boyd Parente, on Feb. 6, 1990.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Nevada City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
