Hon. Secretary of State,
Department of State,
Washington, D.C.
Dear Sir:
We beg leave to introduce to you Mr. F. C. Rawson, of George Whitaker & Company, Wool, of this city.
We have known Mr. Rawson for a number of years while he has been Manager of this company. From the nature of their business, we think it quite likely it is necessary that he should go abroad.
Very truly yours,
?? ??
Cashier.
Department of State,
Washington, D.C.
Gentlemen:
I hereby affirm that as head of the American Branch of this concern I have had regular business intercourse with the firm of Geo. Whitaker & Company during the past five years, during which time I have known Mr. F. C. Rawson to be the sole manager of that business in this country.
Without knowing the exact business which calls him abroad, I do know that five years absence from the head office must have developed a number of conditions, making it advisable, and almost imperative a trip home, for whic reason I also expect in a short time to file applications for a pasport. the writer knowns that occassional visits are necessary to the home office.
Yours respectfully,
J. and W. BASTARD
E. Bentley Atty Mgr.
