According to the 1871 Census he was born about 1837 in Idle. There is no Solomon Robertshaw before 1864 who would match this.

In the 1841, 1851 and 1861 Censuses there are only 3 possible Solomon Robertshaws. One is born about 1805 and dies in 1870. The other two are both born about 1840.

One is born in 1839. He is the son of the older Solomon and his wife Jane. He probably marries Ellen Dawson in 1860 and dies in 1864. His wife is described as a widow in the 1871 Census.

The one described below is the third Solomon Robertshaw.
