WALTHAM ABBEY COUNTY COURT

NOVEMBER 14. - Before his Honour Judge John Dawson Crawford.

On a Motor Cycle. - John Arthur Bartlett, manufacturer's agent, Drayton Road, Leytonstone, claimed £7 10s. balance due on the sale of a second-hand motor cycle from Alfred William Skepelhorn, omnibus driver, England's Lane, Loughton. - Defendant said his mother, aged 64, was the purchaser, and he only acted as her agent. - His Honour: Do you suggest that a woman of 64 is going to ride the motor cyle? - No, sir; but we live about three miles from the station, and I was to ride the machine and take her about. - Plaintiff said defendant had already sold the cycle. - Defendant: No, sir; my mother sold it. - Remarking that a woman of 64 was not likely to buy a motor cycle, his Honour gave judgement for plaintiff, with costs.
