BY VIRTUE of an Act, made in the Forty-seventh Year of the Reign of King GEORGE the Third, Intituled "AN ACT for making and maintaining a Road from Foxley-Hatch, in the Parish of Croydon, into the Town of Reigate, in the County of Surrey." We whose Names are hereunto Subscribed and Seals affixed, (being Trustees acting in Execution of the said Act,) in Consideration of the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to the Treasurer of the said Road, in Hand paid by George Smith of Croydon in the County of Surrey Ironmonger DO hereby grant, sell and demise, unto the said George Smith his Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, such Proportion of the Tolls arising by virtue of the said Act, and also of the Turnpikes and Toll Houses for collecting the same, as the said Sum of One Hundred Pounds doth or shall bear to the whole Sum charged and advanced, or to be charged or advanced, on the Credit of the said Tolls, TO BE HAD AND HOLDEN from the twenty fifth Day of March in the Year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eight for and during the Continuance of the said Act, unless the said Sum of One Hundred Pounds with Interest after the Rate of Five Pounds per Centum per Annum, shall be sooner repaid and satisfied.
GIVEN under our Hands and Seals, this twenty second Day of February in the Year of our Lord, One Thousand Eigth Hundred and Eight

Be it Remembered that an Assignment or Transfer of the above Security dated the 19th day of April 1838 was this day produced and notified unto me under the hand and seal of Charles Smith of Croydon in the County of Surrey Ironmonger and therein described as Legatee under the Will of Mary Smith of Croydon aforesaid Widow deceased who was Legatee for the life with a power of testamentary disposition under the Will of George Smith of Croydon aforesaid Ironmonger her late husband deceased. Whereby he hath for the consideration therein named transferred all his right and title in and to the same Security and the principal money thereby secured and all interest then due or hereafter to grow due thereon unto William Inkpen of Croydon in the County of Surrey, Coach Proprietor, his executors administrators and assigns. Dated the 26th day of April 1838
