reciting 28.9.1812 John Hopkins/ George Smith being lease unto Smith of messe or tenement in High Street then used as two messuages for term of 99 years

and that George Smith signed certain papers undated and purporting to be his will

• Charles Churcher junr. of Keston and Francis Simmons exors. and Mary Smith exec.
• Elizabeth Churcher to receive £100 on reaching age of 21 years,
• Mary Hemming £50,
• Mary Ann Bain interest on £400 with principal sum to be paid to her children at her death,
• wife Mary household effects stock in trade and other personal estate and freehold copyhold & leasehold property to wife for life

Mary Smith by will 10.12.1834

• directed exors. to sell copyhold premises in Parish of Leigh
• and devised to son Charles her interests in premises in High Street then in her occupation with warehouse and henhouse adjoining and messe in High Street in occ. of William Ward which premises she held under lease at yearly rent of £105 per year
• and to son Samuel her interests in remainder of her property comprised in said lease,
• £150 to daughter Mary Ann Bain,
• £100 to daughter Elizabeth Churcher (since decd.)
• and interest on £100 to William Smith during his minority.

Died leaving 5 children namely

• Samuel,
• Mary Ann wife of James Bain,
• Elizabeth late wife of Charles Churcher,
• Maria wife of William Inkpen
• and Charles

• William son of William Smith (son of testatrix who died before date of will)

Elizabeth Churcher died 31.12.1837 and letters of administration were granted to her husband
