Capt Wright visited major Ladly R.E. at 25 Brit Gen Hospital MUNSTER and scertained that he (Major Ladly) would return from Hospital on 5 Nov.

  3   Conservancy in morning. Recreational trainin in afternoon. 3008 & 3009a
  4.   Sunday - no work.  
  5.   Information received that 'G' Pl AVRE would remain attached to use for works less the detachment already with 230 Field Coy. Major Ladly returned from hospital and took over A/CRE.

7 O.Rs (3 Age & Service Group 19 and 3 Group 20and [sic] 1 Group 17) despatched on Class A Release. This included 3 Wireless Operators.

 
  6   Br 71 complete. It is probable that 2 Pl will move to BRAMSCHE to help 3 Pl to build High Level Bailey. Release note for Bailey Parts for the High Level Bailey received. These stores are available at HANNOVER and must be ferried by Unit transport which at present is critical due to various trucks being in workshops for repair.  
  7.   15 cwt truck to report to C.R.E. daily to help with their H.Q. difficulties. Welfare meeting held at this HQ to discuss the winter Welfare programme.

Recreational training - football in afternoon.

 
  9.   Advance information received that Coy would move under command C.R.E. 49 Div on or about 20 Mov. Lt. BARNES RE proceeds on short leave to AMSTERDAM.  
  10.   Work as normal in morning - football match in afternoon. AF W 3008 & 3009a
HESS OLDENDORF 11   Day off. Two minutes silence observed 1200 - 1202 hrs.  
  12.   CRE 'O' Group to discuss move. Information received that 2 and 3 Pls remain until 30 Nov to finish BRAMSCHE Bridge.  
  13.   Scheme to lift HAMELN demolished bridge cancelled in view of move. 1 Pl engaged in taking bridge to pieces in situ.  
  14.   Lt. BARNES returns from short leave AMSTERDAM. Farewell party in Officers Mess for Major LADLY.

Posting order for Major TYLDEN PATTENSON w.e.f. 30 Nove received.

 
  15.   Major LADLY departs on Class 'A' Release.

Works proceeding normally.

 
  16.   Lt. Lakin returns from leave.

Provisionally arranged that 1 Pl move to new location on Monday and H.Q. on Tuesday. 2 and 3 Pls to remain behind at BRAMSCHE until 30 Nov.

The following has been taken over.

Perimeter Wiring Camp ROOSEVELT - Supervision of Road repairs (Civilian contractors) - Supervision of Bridges under construction (Civilian contractors) Operation of water Point. Making sand dumps on road for de-icing purposes. Construction of camp for D.I.D. personnel and repair to approach road.
