LAND BOARD ALLOTMENTS
...
H. Langberg wished
to know why Block 6, Hundred of Joyce,
was allotted to P. S. Robson and not
to himself. The Board do not think it
wise to commence the practice of giving
reasons for allotment of land ; this case,
however, may be exceptional. Block 6,
Hundred of Joyce, was not refused to Langberg
only because he was in arrears with his rent,
but because he owed such a large sum,
viz., £157 16s., and for so long a time, viz.,
three years. Robson 's case was quite different.
In reply to further letter on subject Board
decided Mr. Langberg can be informed that
Robson owed only a small amount compared to
his arrears, and having surrendered his lease
Robson settled up his arrears

LANGBERG VERSUS DISTRICT COUNCIL OF LUCINDALE.
To the Editor.
Sir - Kindly allow me, in justice to Mr. John
Nilon and the public, to inform your readers that
he is a member of the district council of Lucindale,
and was at the time when Mrs. Fuerheerdt
applied to the council for leave to erect a fence
and gate across the Lucindale and Lillicent main
road; and when the matter was brought on at
the council meeting, he alone of the nine councillors
opposed the application; on the grounds of
its being illegal to obstruct a main road. The
result of the recent lawsuit between myself and
the district council of Lucindale proves that he
was in the right. - I am, &c.,
